I mean the very thought of putting arrows ON POLAR OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE PADS has nothing to do with it. What a great stepping technique. Such flow, such elegance, such creativity... actually I'll give them that haha :roll:

Give me an objective reason it's bad that is not based on being short and/or inflexible.

Nice reading, champ.

SM MaxX wrote:Not to mention the only thing calling for it in the music is the lyrics in a literal sense (which personally is one of the dumbest things you could accent in a simfile IMO). You can brag about how well you do on it all you want, it still doesn't make it smart patterning

Nice reading champ.

No it's not, that's one of the most awkward ass pad changes. At least with 1818 your center of mass stays in the same place.

Well at least I don't plan on stepping doubles charts any time soon. I was joking about 1458 but really I won't.

Here's my 1+8 stretching exercise With 1 8 1 1 8 1818(18)s, I made this to work on my flexibity and doing 1+8 holds already stretches my leg to the limits...

I play without the bar so 1458 patterns actually flow well for me. (But not as 16th notes)

Well, King of Light actually did that in the DH chart. Then to prove that he doesn't know what he's doing with that pattern, in m37-m38, he forgets that left on 5, right on 4 is a backwards position, and thinks that the left foot is on 4 and the right on 5.

Toy Soldiers DX doesn't suck
1458 isn't as hard as you all say it is if they are at reasonable speeds

boom gg suckas

In that section, if you're no-baring, your turn your body 90 degrees toward the left, and walk forward along the 8541. However once you left foot reaches the 1 your will have to make a very quick 180 degree turn to the right, or you have to walk backward the 1458 pattern following up.

Toy Solders DX on the other hand, I guess these are intentional double steps? I've only downloaded Rebirth 2 last night:
Code: Select all
1 5 8   1 6 8   1 5 8 4 1   8   1 548 4 1 5 8   1 6 8 2 1   8   1 7 8
---     ---     -------         --==--- ---     -------         ---

1 5 8   1 5 8 4 1   8 451 5 8 3 1 6 8 2 1 548 451 -
---     -------     --==------- ------- --==--==

Ouch

I'd contribute to this but I don't play Rebirth/2 that much anymore so all I know is Toy Soldiers is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever seen (no offense).

I KNOW ISNT IT AWESOME?!

You're all just complaining because you're short and/or inflexible. It flows well enough when you remember to doublestep the 8ths in the stretch sections.

For what it's worth, that wasn't sarcasm. I grooving love toy soldiers. Anyway, I think it's important to have some charts like that. Not every chart, especially in a project like rebirth 2, has to be super-serious and conform to everyone's standards for "good" stepcharts. The point of rebirth 2 is to be fun (and I guess to be accessible). I think it meets that goal really well, especially for doubles charts. So sure, toy soldiers might not have incredible step rhetoric, but that's actually one of the things I like most about it. It's pretty refreshing to see charts nowadays that still blatantly don't care about being "proper" and conforming to expectations. Most times when some well-known stepper releases a new pack I don't even have to play it to know exactly what every song is going to be like, and that gets a little boring.

I agree
