Postby sphinctus on Thu Apr 19, 2012 2:34 am

This guy on craigslist is selling me two cobalt flux ps2 pads in perfect condition for 150$.

I'm thinking this is a good deal.

What do you all think?

Shipping? If included yeah that's really good. V2s aren't as good though so make sure they're in good condition before buying. Ask for a video or something

CF's by themselves are worth at least $200, so if they're genuine and function fine snag those bitches.

Picked them up, was getting pad greats playing the ps2 version of supernova at his place. May have been to video lag cause it was a giant cheap lcd tv, It only came with the ps2 adapter, meaning i need to find a USB adapter somewhere.

the connection from the actual pad almost looks like a vga port.

once i get an adapter will try them with a crt monitor with open ITG. IF I get pad greats at that point then is there a way to replace the sensors?

Oh, and i paid 140 for BOTH of them! pics incoming soon.

You can't really replace the sensors, but people have done what's called the "penny mod." Basically you put pennies in it to make it more sensitive, you can probably find videos/and or diagrams somewhere. But also cleaning it usually helps.

They shouldn't have any inconsistent lag. Contact plates don't work that way. If you have problems just clean them (I can post instructions on that if you want). If THAT doesn't work it may be a control box problem, but I doubt it :lol:

I recently sold my one CF for $175, so yeah, $140 for two is a pretty good deal on your end.

or change the inputdebouncetime to .05. Way less work to alter one number in the metrics.

Yeah, using stepmania 5 i have no idea how to change the imputdebouncetime.

I spent the last half hour googling it before asking.

Yet spending five seconds in Preferences.ini in what should be %APPDATA%\.stepmania\Save or something if you have Windows gives me your answer:

HiddenSongs=0
HideIncompleteCourses=0
HighResolutionTextures=Auto
IgnoredDialogs=
InputDebounceTime=0.000000
InputDrivers=
Interlaced=0
Language=en

If you're using OITG padstickseconds could also be relevant. I'm sure I've been told before but I can't for the life of me remember what inputdebounce and pad stick do seperately.
I think the debounce is relevant to coin drops though.

edit - 3.9 has padstick, no inputdebounce. sm5 has both, like OITG. I'll assume that the main relevant command is indeed padstick.
