Wiring a home pad

Postby fatty on Wed Mar 28, 2012 12:18 pm

I have this metal pad at my house, and I was wondering if I would be able to wire it to plug into my computer via USB port...the old PS2 plugin wire is ripped off, leaving just stubs where the wires come out. Any tips on it?

Here's a picture of the pad:

You'd need to determine the pinout, did it have a straight ps2 connector coming from the pad, no d sub or control box in between?
If so that might make life slightly harder, it might be worth just soldering a ps2 plug onto the end of it.
If not, you could determine pinout and solder to a USB pad, controller board or even decent keyboard (some have lag, generally cheaper ones)

Well the wiring is insanely simple for the pads, a friend of mine and I are going to solder them onto the pins for a keyboard chip, and make it work that way! :D
