This.

Spooty Biscuit wrote:Which makes Piano x Forte DH that much more baffling, when you think about it.

Not talking about how to do the chart. I got that. I'm referring to the fact that you could write something cool like Wicked Plastik DX and then a complete dump like Piano x Forte DH. ~=~eXpOzEd~=~Kyzentun wrote:If I had used footswitches instead, you'd all either be saying nothing or masturbating now.
Did you not see my comments on Colossus DX? I hate the general "shove footswitches into everything" trend, too. But footswitches are at least a viable technique that's been tried and tested. Bracket/tower holds, on the other hand, have pretty much been shown over time to be, for lack of a better term, dumb. Even Mad Matt, the guy who pretty much started the whole trend, says so. Pads will drop them unless they're kept in absolutely phenomenal condition. Even factoring that issue out, players with smaller feet or body weight are frequently forced to wiggle back and forth rhythmlessly to maintain them (which ruins the point of it being a rhythm game). And even if you ignore any issues regarding execution, their purpose is to essentially force the player to move less. Yawn.
Also, the transition of bracketing 4/5 to bracketing 3/4 while still maintaining a hold on 4 is awkward to do no matter how you slice it.
