nice keyboard chart

didn't say anything about this chart this is just wtf in all capacities, except maybe as a IIDX chart

Ahahahaha wtf, I didn't see this chart until now. Ah, the era when step artists would just throw down arrows and leave it up to the player to think about how to hit them.

I'm going to take this to mean that Wicked Plastic DX is awesome. Because nobody has said anything bad about it, and I know you guys don't hold back.

Yeah, Wicked Plastik DX was pretty good.

Which makes Piano x Forte DH that much more baffling, when you think about it.

Why is it baffling? I put effort into making the bracketing not be ambiguous. Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot. It shouldn't be that hard for a player that knows where the brackets are. Instead, everyone apparently looks at and says "wtf? More than 2 arrows? Impossibru!". Then coherent thought apparently stops. If I had used footswitches instead, you'd all either be saying nothing or masturbating now.

Quoted/trimmed for mega-truth

However, I think that you spawned a running joke in which thought isn't relevant.

Not talking about how to do the chart. I got that. I'm referring to the fact that you could write something cool like Wicked Plastik DX and then a complete dump like Piano x Forte DH. ~=~eXpOzEd~=~

Did you not see my comments on Colossus DX? I hate the general "shove footswitches into everything" trend, too. But footswitches are at least a viable technique that's been tried and tested. Bracket/tower holds, on the other hand, have pretty much been shown over time to be, for lack of a better term, dumb. Even Mad Matt, the guy who pretty much started the whole trend, says so. Pads will drop them unless they're kept in absolutely phenomenal condition. Even factoring that issue out, players with smaller feet or body weight are frequently forced to wiggle back and forth rhythmlessly to maintain them (which ruins the point of it being a rhythm game). And even if you ignore any issues regarding execution, their purpose is to essentially force the player to move less. Yawn.

Also, the transition of bracketing 4/5 to bracketing 3/4 while still maintaining a hold on 4 is awkward to do no matter how you slice it.

Holy shit stepcharts have changed. I have no idea what any of this means.

The view that you and TEEX have on footswitches, is the exception, I was too lazy to write "almost all".
I only drop holds when bracketing when my feet are positioned wrong. I doubt the pads I play on are in phenomenal condition. It could be easier for me because I play in vibrams that allow my foot to arch up in the middle.
As for forcing the player to move less, while it does do that, it also forces the player to have finer foot control. I see fine foot control as an important skill for passing harder charts, since it plays a role in having the stamina to pass harder charts.
For the transition from 4/5 to 3/4, 0.33 seconds at that bpm is 3 16ths, which is ample time to lift your foot off both panels and move it to the other bracket.

If you had posted this while we were working on the pack, I would have changed it.
