It's harder for very tall people and very short people to hold the bar comfortably when they play. I've also heard people say that being shorter makes barless play easier, but I don't know how true that is.

Holding the bar and bracketing feels completely normal to me... it's just playing stretchy songs on doubles that is more difficult

Height: 6'3". Feet: yes.

...what? I thought being taller made barless play easier. You know, trigonometry and all, we have to move our legs less by proportion. And then there's doubles  Also, if I want to play with bar, I have to squat a bit to reach a good solid position, and that's just annoying. I don't play DDR with bar simply because the bar is so low (and because I honestly don't need it for DDR haha).

I always played barless on DDR for the same reason. When I hold ITG bars, I only use my fingers and rest my first set of knuckles on the bar, rather than gripping it with my whole palm like most people, because it allows me to stand up straighter.

But shorter people have a lower center of gravity, giving them more balance.

^This is the hypothesis I heard. Didn't think much about it, but it seemed reasonable.
