WinDEU Hates You Fixes

Having trouble getting various WinDEU Hates You (W.H.Y.) courses to work properly? This is the place to be!


First of all, have you noticed that since you installed WHY Forever, WHY The Movie no longer works? That's because why3.lua effectively cancels out why2.lua. To fix this, I've combined the two Lua files into one:

Download this file (why2-3.lua), put it in your scripts folder for your theme, and delete both of the original scripts (why2.lua and why3.lua). This will allow you to run both WHY Forever and WHY The Movie on the same machine and have them both work correctly!

NOTE: This also includes a little fix for WHY The Musical that will center the screen during the Extra Stage.


Second, are you annoyed by the fact that the courses are simply named "Stage X", making it confusing which stage belongs to which course? No problem! I've gone through and changed the names of all the courses to make them stand apart from each other, and sort better too!

Simply download this file, and unzip into your StepMania directory. If you have WHY The Musical, you'll need to go delete the original folder titled "WHYTM Courses" (I changed the name of this folder to make it distinct from WinDEU Hates You The Movie, since both of them have the same initials).

NOTE: This also includes a fix for WHY The Musical during the vertical lava part of the Extra Stage.


Speaking of WHY The Musical, while I'm at it, if you're having trouble with one of the stages blacking out, go into the folder "Songs\WinDEU Hates You The Musical\Brightness Darkness\darkness" and edit "BGAnimation.ini". At the very end of the file, change the text "sleep,2;" to read "sleep,1;" instead.

Someone on SM (midman) pretty much explained how to fix it, although he fell short of making a patch for it. And because I have hardly any programming knowledge, I'm just waiting for someone else to make it work.

Yeah I read that thread, I'm going to attempt it myself when I get a chance (assuming no one else has done it by then). I really want to get these to work in OpenITG so I don't have to keep an old StepMania build lying around just for my WinDEU Hates You courses.

It basically just boils down to whether or not I can get the OpenITG Source Code to compile properly.

What resolution are you playing in?

Right now I have a few concerns.

In stage 3, Printer Jam of WHYTMovie, a mod that showcases riding the X-Axis is absent from the beginning of the chart and I don't know why.

Also, recently download WHYI+1 and am having a few issues.

Will get back to you when I figure those out.
