Also I was retarded and didn't pre-reg online so I have to do normal registration on Friday. I'm getting to O'Hare around noon though so I should be plenty early. Anyone know how shitty these lines get at ACen? Or does it vary annoyingly inexplicably like every other con? whatevs ACEN WATS UP.

Yikes...not gonna lie, you're in for a sick line-waiting session. Expect to wait at least 6 hours in line. A couple years ago, the waits were as bad as 12 hours for some people. Their computer system there is a joke, so that shit moves at a snail's pace. Maybe it'll be better than it was in past years, who knows. After my first year (2008), I've always pre-reg'd online and gotten my badge mailed to me to avoid all that, so I couldn't give you an accurate prediction.

Jesus, I hope it's not that bad. I know my worst line experience at a con was three hours at Otakon '07 (in the sweltering Baltimore sun wooo). Six to twelve hours though? Even for two years ago that's beyond atrocious. My flight lands in Chicago at noon on Friday, so I guess I'll head straight to the Hyatt and see what's up. Hopefully I'll be getting there way before the mass of people that come after work lets off. I'll make sure I bring a book though, haha.

I'm going to have to wait in line too, but that was because I was supposed to get comped by my photo company and then ACen derped on crap and we got screwed. Mind if I join in the line buddiness?

The lines last year apparently weren't horrible. I think I heard the lines were 3 hours max last year which considering its size, isn't too surprising. The year the line was 12 hours long was just dumb. I heard it was DDOS'd and the server just turned to poop but I'm not 100% sure.

So they finally got their rears in gear and got a more reliable computer system, I'm guessing. That's good. All I know is that 2008 was a joke. I had pre-reg'd (so I was just picking up the badge) and it still took me 2 hours...AND I had skipped way ahead in line with RYZEN XIA. Some friends who didn't pre-reg and got there after noon waited 8+ hours.
