Wow, the Mayflys are extremely light. Maybe the stats I found for them where wrong, but that's impressive if they are 4.6oz per shoe.

Yeah, I am back to normal shoes for DDR, the Asic are just shot. I can still do pretty all right, but I want to find out what you all think and find a good replacement.

I did add the New Balance and Mayfly, if anyone sees something I missed please let me know.

I did fine Mizuno Wave Universe in my searching, and they are 3.6 a shoe, but they don't seem to have a good bottom for ddr.

Mayflys are lighter than tapers, or any other shoe I've found.

If light shoes is what your looking for, then these are pretty much unbeatable.

Mizuno Wave Universe 3
Weight: 3.8 onces

They're also way more durable than the Asics Piranha. My friend has a pair and after a couple months with them they still look brand new. Believe it or not those little back tabs near the toe of the sole don't fall off.

I have never tried the Brooks, so I really couldn't tell you. But if you get the Mizunos, keep in mind that they are really insanely light. More so than the Asics even. So it may take a while to regain good technique with them. Still I highly recommend the Mizunos.

Are there any shoes available in stores that are available in wide sizes?

I avoid buying anything off eBay because my shoe size depends on how wide the shoe is.

But really I've stuck with my Nike Frees from back when they were cool, and haven't felt any dying need to switch. (Only wear them when I play, though, so they're in good condition)

Nike Frees are STILL cool (to poor guys like me)

I'm getting $300 next week from Financial Aid that i don't need and gonna splurge on, maybe, some Nike Lunarglides :3

I handled one of these in a Champs store and they're about as equally as light as Nike Frees :D

The Lunar Glides, are the heaviest so far at 10.7 oz, I am not sure there a great ddr shoe.

I am going to try to see if I can find a pair of them at the mall, so I don't have to pick one up online. (With my Asics I cut off all the loose bits, but since quite a bit more has come up. They are falling quicker then the Twin Towers)

The only light shoe from the Luna series is the Luna Racer. Add that one to your list.

I tried on Nike Frees 7.0 today at the Mall.... I was not happy with those at all. They just weren't comfortable for me. Unfortunately, they did not have anything else on the list at the mall today. I was hoping to find the New Balance 790s, because we have a New Balance Store in the mall :/.

Lunar Racer's are 5.5 oz per shoe. Good weight.

The guy at the Champs tried to sell me Lunar Glides. lol

Recently, I went out to Ross of all places and bought a cheep pay of Polo shoes, the bottoms are completely flat, but they weigh 13oz per shoe. DDR is a whole new experience now. It's taken me about 2 weeks, but I am at least back up to 10s now. I am going to stick with these heavy shoes for a while, then go back to the light ones to see if I notice any measurable improvement.

I just ordered myself some Puma Salohs. They're basically a new version of the Puma H Streets. Weighing in a 6.1 ounces they're still a pretty light shoe. I'm looking forward to trying them out. The prices vary depending on you you buy them from. I think you can only get them on ebay. (Which is where I got mine)

Edit: Here's a picture of the one's I'm getting. I really like the look of the strap that comes over the top of the shoe just below where the laces end.
