It's just a good way to sync files because pretty much everyone hit's a tad early.

This is Right!

That's an inaccurate assumption; there are plenty of people like me that can't FA nearly as well when stuff is too early. Mandodo's stuff is especially early, which works well for him but not for me. I always have to re-sync his stuff before playing it or I'll just get so many late excellents.

Mandodo sucks.... Neither so early....

Pray tell, is your global offset at 0.000 or -0.001 by any chance? Because if so, that's exactly the reason why ;).

Ddreamstudio does not have a global offset; it simply shows the wave formations of the songs.

Eric, you're right, I probably shouldn't have  I am not trying to insult you, Mute. Would you like me to show you what ddreamstudio is showing me? If you say no, it's fine.

Like it was said, .011 is not the apocalypse  I've seen "respected syncers" go as far as like .035 ahead of songs (and people who are much much better than me have managed to quad many of them).

However, I think it could help us both to resolve this discrepancy.

Chris, you should still post your DDReam FAQ/Tutorial, but do so in another thread. Hell, a lot of people can benefit from learning to efficiently cut songs and calculate accurate/precise BPM changes. Who knows, I might even learn something that I might not have already known.

After reading over the posts in this thread, mute's guide makes sense to me, and I want to give it a try. Although my method makes my machine syncing feel comfortable, I'm curious to see if my results can be even better. I'm going to test it out on one of my charts if I decide to go to Menlo this weekend for a few casual games.

I would love to :) But I really don't want "bad blood" with Mute. I'd rather wait for what he has to say.

I know I would love to know how to calculate BPM changes as well as cutting songs better.

No, I don't need you to show me what DDReam Studio says. I know what offsets I put in my charts and I put them there for a reason.

[Edited to remove hostility. God, I hate this thread now.]

Oh, side note: I played two of your charts the other day from my friend's USB drive and they both felt slightly off...as in, 10-12 milliseconds off. Figure it out.

Thanks . Little Mute

I actually like this idea. A lot.

The program would not be available for Windows, of course.

Lol pro endorsements.

Edit: By the way, I wanted to apologize. I honestly only looked at three of your files in ddream, and I just assumed they were all the same. Now that I've looked at them all, I can say that many (including "As The Rush Comes" and "Light Emitting Diode Whatever") were dead-on. I actually tried syncing a few songs in wavepad (which I use only for audio-cutting), and I found it incredibly difficult to pinpoint exactly where the beats were landing. So what I'm trying to say is that I don't believe your method to be inaccurate, but without different tools that help you locate exactly where beats are, it is almost impossible to be 100% sure.

Here's a forum in which I posted some screenshots of ddream (and basically owned Cloud in a syncing argument). I'll just post the links to those pages because the screenshots take up way too much space. You'll see that ddream's filter makes it much clearer. GET A PC

Yeah, I know. Also keep in mind that those two songs in particular are heavily edited, and their bpms are bizarre. So obviously, I have no trouble syncing stuff like that using my method. I know you've got a hard-on for DDReam Studio, and if it works for you then that's great. I, on the other hand, am not about to partition my hard drive and install the world's worst OS just to run a program that's completely superfluous. I know not all waveforms are easy to read, but I mostly sidestep that issue by not stepping songs that fall into that category. Bottom line: I do it my way, I correct oversights if necessary, and people quad my charts. Thanks for the input though; it's always good to consider every possible viewpoint.
