I know it's a game, but...it just makes me die a little inside. These thoughts of it doing some damage to club culture are a bit haunting.

I'll just pray :?

Hip hop/Pop mashups are full of fail. I hope this game doesn't bring anymore amateur fakers that play at school dances with their itunes or whatever they use these days. Get some tables and learn to freakin beatmix. It's not *scratch scratch* you're in. /rant

I'll play the game if there's Tiesto or some Kaskade, etc. Sadly, Alice Deejay is too generic for my taste. If Sandstorm makes it, I'll buy the game and snap the disk. That's like the most generic electronic song alive.

It looks like some Noisia will be in the game, which looks like alot of fun.

I've mixing for years now, and my feelings on this game are probably similar to those guitar players who see Guitar Hero. It's a game, not a simulator. If I can enjoy a game that allows me to be creative with the music and follow the rhythm, I'm game!

You're exactly right, I had been a guitar player for years before guitar hero came out, and I never really had a problem with it.. It's a fun game that enjoy playing.. Although it does bug me when guitar hero players actually start comparing themselves to guitar players..lol

I played this game twice on the GamesCom in Germany about 2 months a go and I was surprised with how fun it actually was. First of all, anybody calling this a Beatmania rip-off doesn't know enough about this game. But if I had to say which one of them comes the closest to actuall DJ'ing, than it's DJ Hero. But that's not important for me and should not be the main focus.

I was really surprised with how good it turned out. It was really fun to play and contains more variety than you would think on first sight. The stick that you have to move left and right is fun and challenging and the scratching works great. The music has also surprised me. I'm not going to say if it's better or worse than Beatmania, and I don't want to. Both are very fun and in my opinion, it will depend more on your musical taste :D

Oh yeah, here's a link to the full tracklist.

That controller actually looks pretty sweet, and some of the songs look pretty cool too.

haha

still not quite.

It's so different than all of them. I played it at gamestop.

also, that controller pic isn't the entire thing. You have this equalizer thing that you have to move if the green or blue lines move to the side. Not only that, but sometimes, you have to turn the turntable at the same time that you press a button. They even have scratch sections kinda like IIDX, but they work more like rolls from ITG. it's pretty sweet.

I actually played this recently. And I'm going to buy it.

No, seriously. I thought this game would be a joke but it was a LOT more fun than I expected. And with my experience in rhythm games I was only able to slosh through Medium difficulty songs with a 3*/5 score, so this game isn't going to get too easy for a while.

As for this game "ruining" actual DJing... how serious do people take amazing GH/RB players at real guitar?

I'm heading to my brother's house a little bit later today, and I'm going to play it there. He got it for free. :D

Unfortunately the game isn't out in Canada yet so I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet.. Hopefully it will be soon tho.

I tried the demo set at Best Buy. I like this a little more than GH/RB (which really isn't saying much), but I would never buy it. The turntable is way too awkward, and groove paying anything over $50 for a game ever. I might try it once or twice if I was at someone's place that had it, though.
