What to do next?

Postby sssmsm on Mon Mar 02, 2009 2:12 am

So now that the first round of Iron Stepfile Chef is over, it's time to move on to the next new and exciting thing at r21freak.

...the question is, what should we do?

I have a few original ideas for things to do later, but definitely not until the summer at least. And before then I'd like to have another Iron Stepfile Chef, so the question is what we should do between now and then (from March to mid May or so). Since NIQ9's Project Destruction pack and NEMO's iSouljaboytellem pack are in the works, I don't know if it would be a bit much to start up a new site-wide pack while they're still going on. Do you think we should have an official r21freak contest (it has been over a year since we've had one...) and push the start date for the next pack until the others are almost done?

So I'd love to get some input on what you guys think we should do next. If you're all for the contest idea, then let's do it. If you'd rather collaborate on some awesome community files instead, and you don't think it'd be too much to have three packs going at the same time, then let's do it. Tell me your ideas! :D

I think it'd be a bit much to start another site pack now, since there are already two in the works. I think after Destruction is released (which will probably be relatively soon) and maybe after iSouljaboy is released depending on how long that will be, we should do another drama filled awesome stepfile comp. Then after that, a new site pack would be pretty sweet.

I don't think having 3 packs going at once is a good idea, but I'm definitely supporting another contest.

I agree with Reen. A site pack would be pretty cool, but I just don't have the time at the moment. Any SM time I get is used for Project Destruction. I do have time to make 1 chart for a contest though, so I think that would be the best idea.

I agree with the three posters above me. I've been wondering when the next comp would arise, and it's the perfect site event for those busy with PD or iSBT. Plus, we get another cool pack with all the comp entries when it's over. I'd say go for it.

Definitely a new comp. I think that's a fantastic idea.

The notes in that section are neither 12ths at 180 bpm nor 16ths at 180 bpm, but they are a lot lot closer to 16ths at 180 bpm than 12ths.

Cool. A new competition is what I was hoping for, so unless there is some serious opposition that comes up, you can expect r21freak Pad File Comp IV soon :D

I like the idea of a contest, but maybe something really different and original. Like a site comp, but with a twist... I wouldn't know what the twist would be, though. :( Maybe we could incorporate some sort of treasure hunt or quizzes sometime for prizes?

As long as it doesn't involve NEMO rigging stuff, I'm down.

Not a grooving comp. Then we're back on scare uno.
People going all dramatic because THAT GUY USED GIMMICKS AND CROSSOVERS THAT'S WHY HE WON!!!!!

Just get a team of the best stepartists making FUN stepcharts and i can take care of it.

I can be the leader of thing. Finding the right people.

I'm in favor of Comp IV, too. If people are worried about overly gimmicky files winning, then they should submit some fun files that aren't full of stupid gimmicks and win the comp.
