r21freak SMW ROM Hack

So I know now that it's possible to import music and custom graphics in the ROM. I haven't tried it yet, but by the time the project is almost done, I should be a pro at it.

I established a list of most the notable posters on r21freak and what kind of stages to give them. There are:
+8 people with SPECIAL stages
+4 proud owners of Switch Palaces
+4 Castle people
+2 Fortress people

The stamina players (TCP, Reen, and Monst3rjoe, etc.) will have their own "subworld" (kinda like Vanilla Dome, Valley of Bowser, etc.). Since it's pointless to have a subworld with only 3 levels, filler levels will be filled in with DF or other song references.

also, if I'm getting the Purple Arrow palace, is it possible to make it a "reverse" switch, like the button turns solid purple blocks into outlines? That'd be epic.

I guess my level could be extremely technical since that's how most of my [not so recent] files are. Maybe with one of those moving screens for part of it.

I like that. I'll have it so that hitting the switch and removing the purple blocks will actually unblock a path in another stage which allows the player to progress. To be honest, I wasn't really considering using purple blocks that much anyway. Only thing, Steve, I had you reserved for a SPECIAL stage. Should I replace you with someone else and give you the switch palace altogether? Or keep the Special, and let that be the level which requires the purple blocks to be switched off?

Text hacking is easy, so the "no one likes you" bit can be done no problem.
Again, if graphic editing works out, I'll do it.

Actually, the "blocking purples" to clear the "SPECIAL" level is perfect imo, but you'd have to make it a two-exit level, one that brings you back to the level before it (if you are stuck and don't have the purples uncleared), and one that advances the player after.

Looks absolutely amazing. Is anyone entitled/allowed to help you or is this your own solo project?

People are more than welcome to help me with the stages, especially since it'll help get the project done faster. If anything, you can make a stage you have a bunch of ideas for, save it as a separate file, send it to me, and I'll import it into the ROM.
