Question just to clear something up:

Would one be allowed to have someone cut a song for you? The question goes for anyone that isn't a judge for obvious reasons. Other competitors more specifically. I have a fantastic idea for once but I can't seem to get the cuts right for some reason.

Can I submit a file with a Intro of 9 seconds not stepped? I mean, the length from the first step until the last step is 2:15, but the ogg is 2:24...

Song play length/stepping time must be between 1:30 and 2:15 (defined as the beginning of the chart to the last step)

The limit is 2:15 presumably for the sake of R23 machines, which will cut the song off after 2:15 of audio. So I'd assume the answer would be no.

You should try to avoid it, but it's not like I'll know if you do. Try to get someone who isn't entering the comp to cut your song if you aren't going to cut it yourself.

Correct me if I'm wrong in this interpretation, but there's nothing against the rules (though I assume it's frowned upon) for people to know what song you stepped; the chart just has to be completely unreleased, right? I'm just asking because I've stepped some thus-far unreleased files while in a Skype call, where I'm pretty sure some of the people involved heard the song I was stepping, and I'm considering said files as potential submissions.

Pretty much. As long as we don't find out that you were receiving help with your chart or anything like that (which I certainly don't expect from you) and you haven't released the chart or shown it to any of the judges you should be fine. Ideally nobody should really know what your file is, but again, there's no way I would really know or care if someone did know.

You have nothing to lose by submitting. Even if you don't feel that your submission is your best work, it's a great chance to get feedback and measure up to the community, as well as get your chart in a fairly widely-downloaded pack.

Wooooooooooo finished a chart, and re-cut an existing cut, didn't realise til after saving that it is exactly 1:30 (and 30 milliseconds), granted I have put a few mines at the start/end to fill the gaps but the SONG ITSELF is 1:30.
