Want a song title/artist name translated/romanized? This is the place to ask. R21Freak's in-house team of highly trained weebs will do their best to accommodate you. In addition, even if you know nothing about the language, this online Japanese-English dictionary can help you figure out simpler titles.

oh my god thank you so much

The last time I made a reply to that thread, I thought I was going to have an aneurysm

Spooty Biscuit wrote:ホシノナミダ -> "Hoshi no Namida" -> something like "Tears of a Star", yes?

That looks like it should be right.

You can just plug about 50% of your translation needs through a dictionary and come up with the right answer, and then the rest require some knowledge of Japanese grammar (online translators like Google or Babelfish tend to be pretty bad at it), or even puns

This sounds like something someone who wants to submit a shitty anime remix and not get found out immediately would say

Dang that's some classic poetry stuff right there. Apparently it's part of a famous one from Genji Monogatari. It's about someone who sees a childhood friend for a second, but before the author can determine if it was really her or not, she suddenly leaves, like the moon disappearing between clouds at midnight.

That's probably how I'd translate it, but I'd recommend just romanizing it if possible since it's long and sounds kind of silly in English.

Romanization: Kumogakure nishi yoha no tsuki kana

Any way to say "or" in japanese?

I usually say "それとかこれ" when referring to two separate things. Is this wrong?

とか usually means "something like," as in "something like this or something like that." If you just want a straight up "or" just use か between nouns :D

Although it does sound more natural to add another か at the end if you're listing things. Like, "英語か、政治か、音楽か、どっちを専攻にするかまだわからない" (I still don't know whether to major in English, politics or music).

Yeah, I got something similar in Google Translate (Colorful port Sounds). I just want to double-check on the grammatical accuracy.

From what I've found, Colorful Sounds Port is often stylized as C.S. Port

Ah, in that case, I'll be using that as the artist tag. Thanks Loak!

Hitori literally means one person, but it can also mean alone.
Shizuka means quiet, calm, and peaceful.

Quiet and Alone, I guess?
