BUMP. Some sweet stuff there, TEEX. Anyways, some things.

As I Lay Dying released their latest album "The Powerless Rise" back in mid-may, and there some good stuff on there.

Later, on July 24th-25th will be the Heavy MTL festival which I will be attending. The headlining bands there are gonna be Slayer and Megadeth. Their show was supposed to be back in November, but because of Tom Araya's back problems, is was brought back into the festival this summer. There are some other pretty cool bands too.

[Reveal] Spoiler: Attending Bands
MEGADETH
* SLAYER
* KORN
* ROB ZOMBIE
* ALICE COOPER

* AVENGED SEVENFOLD
* LAMB OF GOD
* ROB HALFORD
* MASTODON
* ALEXISONFIRE
* FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH

* TESTAMENT
* MELISSA AUF DER MAUR
* AIRBOURNE
* FEAR FACTORY
* DESPISED ICON
* HATEBREED
* 3 INCHES OF BLOOD
* HIGH ON FIRE
* ANVIL
* WINDS OF PLAGUE
* CHIMAIRA
* KATAKLYSM
* ATREYU
* IN THIS MOMENT
* NORMA JEAN
* SHADOWS FALL
* 36 CRAZYFISTS
* LES ÉKORCHÉS
* BAPTIZED IN BLOOD
* SKELETONWITCH
* DEADLY APPLES
* HAIL THE VILLAIN
* BENEATH THE MASSACRE

And one last thing. Century Media is releasing a "Best Of Black Metal" album this summer, so I'll be checking that out too.

Edit: Almost forgot about Alestorm. They make Pirate metal... need I say more?

As I Lay Dying is a pretty cool band, although I don't seem motivated to listen to them that often. I'll look into that new album however, and hopefully that will make me change my mind.
Speaking of AILD, have you or anyone else heard of Austrian Death Machine started by the singer? They parodize Arnold Schwartzenagger's films by imitating his voice in their songs, but even so it sounds awesome!

There are a lot of bands on that list which I haven't heard of, although there are a few I recognize and only because I'm mostly mainly an old-schooler. If I were ever to go to this, I say I'd most look forward to Slayer, Megadeth, Rob Halford (fuck yeah Judas Priest!) and Testament. Sucks to hear about Tom.
My friend was raving to me about Five Finger Death Punch, so I'll have to check them out. Stuff like A7X and Atreyu just aren't my style.

Anyhow, I hope you have an awesome time, Carlos!

As for the compilation you posted, great selection! I was able to recognize almost all of those bands since I'm a big fan of black metal. Old Man's Child, Naglfar, Celtic Frost and Rotting Christ are beast.

Speaking of which, Watain has to be the most badass black metal band I've ever heard. Holy shit, I can't wait for their new album! Check them out if you haven't:

Lastly, some more Pirate Metal for those interested:

They're a German band that was around since the 70's. They had a pretty rich sound considering they never edited their stuff in the studio, so what they put out was totally raw. Rogues en Vogue is definitely my favorite album by them.

Meh, I'm not really a fan of ADM like you don't really fancy AILD.

Anyways, something that I forgot to mention in my last post, the passing of Ronnie James Dio. He kicks so much ass. He's the only guy who can make rainbows sounds satanic.

Anyone here listen to Protest the Hero? They are a mix between mathcore/prog (really depends on which album you listen to) but they are pretty damn good. Some people seem to get hung up on the vocalists voice, but I personally love it.

Here's one of my favorite songs by them:

That man would stay out in a storm signing autographs longer than most people would. Not only was he passionate about what he did and worked hard to get to where he was, but he really cared about his fans. Despite being in his 60's, he sounds like he hasn't aged a bit when he sang. So much respect to him. I wore my Holy Diver shirt proudly the day I heard the news.
As far as my physical CD collection goes, I have:
-Holy Diver
-The Very Beast of Dio
-The Dio Years (Black Sabbath)

As for Protest the Hero, I had only been familiar with the name. I listened to the song Psychotik posted from beginning to end. The instrumental aspect of the song is very cool, and quite different from what I'm used to (in a good way). That thick bass in the beginning is awesome. The singer however, just didn't cut it for me.

Oh man, I love PTH. A friend had me listen to No Stars over Bethlehem a few years ago. I haven't really heard anything recent, but this song is amazing.

Good luck syncing that stepfile btw. the BPMs drift a LOT.

I really really hope you're joking. If you are, don't even joke about that. It's not funny.

Somewhat related, sometimes I like to play a little game called "Try to understand a single word from a Cannibal Corpse Song".
I always lose.

Bonus points if you can decipher the lyrics. Key below!
[Reveal] Spoiler: LYRICS
Lyrics :
I was visiting in africa two months ago
My goal was to see all those wild animals
Most excited I was when I came close to elephants
They were so big and somehow so scary
Something happened when I snapped a picture
Three elephants surrounded me
One of them ripped off all my clothes
Second elephant came on me and started to spread my buttocks
With its huge trunk
I screamed in agony when I felt it started to shove up my ass
Third elephant forced me to take its giant cock in my mouth
I sucked like a whore while I was assfucked by elephant trunk
After all it wasnt too bad at all
It took only about ten minutes and cock in my mouth started to cum
Extremely huge load of elephant sperm filled my throat and
Spurted allover my face
I was completely grooved up, but elephants had one more thing to do
All three of them huffed and puffed shits on me
Then they left me alone with my ripped asshole
I'll never go to Africa again

Cannibal Corpse is alright. That's really all I can say about them, perhaps I haven't listened to enough of them, but they don't really seem to have much more substance to their songs other than the grungy guitar. When it comes to death metal, I would rather just listen to Naglfar, Bloodbath, or Belphegor.
Also:
[Reveal] Spoiler: Cannibal Corpse - I Cum Blood (lyrics)
Swollen with liquid
Ready to burst
A load of my lymph
Will quench this dead body's thirst
One month in the grave
twisted and half decayed
She turned a putrid yellow
I pissed in her maggot filled asshole

grooving the rotting
My semen is bleeding
The smell of decay
Seeps from her genital cavity

The smell was unbearable
As I unburied her
I cum blood from my erection
I feel it run
down her throat, swallow
Eyes glassy and vacant
body dug up to play with
Skin greasy and naked
tounguing her rotted anus

I need a live woman
to fill with my fluid
A delicate girl, to mutilate, groove and kill
her body exceptional
she thought I was normal
but I wanted more

I came blood inside of her
chocking on the clot
gagging on the snot
gushing blood, from her mouth
bloody gel leaking out
Body buried in a shallow grave
Unmarked for none to find
The sickness I have left behind
Undetected go my crimes
The greatest thrill of my life
To slit my own cock with a knife

Violent, climax
Serging serum
on my skin

Back from the dead
I am resurrected
to spew, putrefaction

Points for creativity at least.

@zimlord: HAHAHAHAHA oh my god..

As for my death metal contribution:

Heaven Shall Burn released their latest album, Invictus, in North America today.

A sweet song from them. Definitely worth checking out.
