Best ITG Shoes? (Specs Inside)

I wouldn't recommend the classic ones, 'cause on LUR/RUL crossovers, you might have a tendency as I did to step on your heel and pull your foot out of the shoe.

I do go walking with them actually, running as well, they are very well made for how light they seem; and I am going to have to agree with the person above me about getting the classics, i say get either the kso's or another type that covers the ankle or has straps to make sure it doesn't fall off by mistepping

i went to the sport chalet, which had most/all the vibram shoes on display. the girl that helped me try these on was very nice, and patient with me. i gotta be honest though. idk what it is, but i was getting a huge headache trying to get these shoes on. now, im a pretty smart guy, but ive never had so much trouble getting shoes on in my entire grooving life. i literally was getting so frustrated and felt very dumb that i couldnt master getting these shoes on. it could also just be my feet though, or more specifically, my inability to maneuver individual toes around. i was having trouble getting my 2 smallest toes into the proper toe slots of the shoe. after trying for about a half hour or so, i just apologized to the girl helping me out and said that this wasnt going to happen. i eventually left without buying any of the shoes and was disappointed, because i really wanted this shoe.

Killed my mayflys in about 3 months. Thats much longer then the Asic Piranha SPs.

My Muzuno Wave Universe 3s are still going strong. Still comfortable as hell, but if you hit a screw wrong you can feel it though the sole.

Mizuno Wave Universe 3: Two Months Later

So I've had these for about two months. Up until this week, I've only played about 1-2 times a week. I typically play 9s through 12s for about 1.5 hours each session. I play on a Cobalt Flux.

Based on my experiences, these shoes are AWESOME. They're almost like rigid socks. They have a good amount of grip, and are MUCH more durable than you'd initially think. I first thought I'd rip them just by putting them on, but they've handled the beatings of ITG with no problems. These shoes are well worth the money.

Here's what they look like now:

I can't imagine Tapers being much better than this.

I will take pictures of mine here a bit later. I have had them since December. I play no-bar daily (at least 6 times a week) for about an hour to an hour and a half. I also 9-12 primarily 10s and 11s. Mine area quite a bit more worn then that, but they do okay. I wish the soles on them were a little thicker.

I bought my 790s over a year and a couple months ago, and they have survived my constant 15-16s as well as wearing them around casually.

You can't get 790s any more. They now make MR10, MW10 and MT10, and they are all crap.

I worn my Mayflys out first because I liked the sole better, but they are tighter fit. The Wave Universe 3s are a very comfortable shoe, but I have hit a screw more the once with the bottom of that shoe and it hurt like hell.

I worn my Mayflys out first because I liked the sole better, but they are tighter fit. The Wave Universe 3s are a very comfortable shoe, but I have hit a screw more the once with the bottom of that shoe and it hurt like hell.

They're very light, and the soles look basically identical to the MT790 that Matt, Steve and those other guys play in, so I can't imagine them being much different. They're just so cushiony, though, and I don't like it. Being so used to my Tapers, it feels like dancing with couch cushions under my feet. Plus, they're the first shoes I've worn in ages that have any kind of arch support, so they kind of hurt my arches hahaha.

They seem to be working fairly well for me. It's just a bit harder to tell where I am on the pad now.
