Fanime?

Postby shadowobsessed on Sat May 05, 2012 5:36 pm

I think I'll be going down to San Jose to attend this convention for the first time. PAX sold out its tickets within hours, so...none of that for me. A bad year for conventions, seeing as how Blizzcon got cancelled as well. So I'm hoping this will be third time's a charm! Anyone else going?

You should go to MagFest next year.

Huh, never heard of it. It seems to have a large focus on music though, is that a considerably large portion of it? I'm not that interested if so. I do like music, but I find it hard to appreciate it in a room full of socially awkward people, and the people I travel with don't really get into live music either. It would just be a meh situation for me because I couldn't enjoy it fully if it's just all music.

Crazy how much PAX tickets are going on eBay. I picked up mine last year I got mine for about 80 (3 day).
Perhaps they will drop as time goes on.

Bump for Fanime this year. Any intereeeest? I heard there might be a PIU Fiesta 2, not sure. Otherwise, the arcade selection is probably going to be as lackluster as last year.

also I didn't mean to ignore people's posts for like a year, sorry. I looked up Magfest and that it on the opposite side of the country. And I still want to try for PAX this year, so if they do some more of that "not sure when exactly tickets will go on sale" bullshit, I'm taking that whole grooving week off and STARING AT MY COMPUTER FOR HOURS, FINGER READY TO TRIGGER AND GET THOSE TICKETS GO GO GO

It's music and gaming. The main draw for me is the game room, where there are tons of arcade games including Bemani Invasion, hosting a wide variety of games like DDR X3, IIDX Tricoro, Pop'n Music Fantasia, GF/DM, etc.

that sounds fun! I watch Bemani Invasion for stuff on Facebook just because I think they look awesome, but I can't really justify flying out to the east coast right now. I also really like their shirts.
