OpenITG reading USB?

Postby Loak on Mon Dec 03, 2012 2:03 am

How do you make OpenITG read USB off of a laptop or desktop computer? Is there anything you need to change as opposed to using the same flash drive on a dedicab?

assuming you're running Windows, download USBDLM and install it. Assign whatever letters you want to the USB drives on the computer.

http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbdlm_e.html#download

edit this into Static.ini in ~/OpenITG/Data

Code: Select all
AdditionalSongFolders=J:\Songs
DefaultModifiers=3x, Metal, Dizzy, Overhead
MemoryCardOsMountPointP1=P:/
MemoryCardOsMountPointP2=Q:/
MemoryCardUsbPortP1=P:/
MemoryCardUsbPortP2=Q:/
#MemoryCardProfileImportSubdirs=In The Groove
#MemoryCardProfileSubdir=In The Groove 2

MemoryCardUsbPortP1=-1
MemoryCardUsbPortP2=-1
MemoryCards=1

for this example, my external drive J contains extra songs on my machine, and I used P: and Q: as my drive letters

The Memorycardprofilesubdir line is necessary if you use themes like ITG 3 that force you to use "In The Groove 3" as a folder on a flash drive instead of the general norm "In The Groove 2".

Okay, what does it mean if it says SIGNATURE FAILED when you actually get to the songs?

That's to be expected if your USB profile was created by ITG2. Your laptop doesn't have the key to verify the profile. Be warned that if you allow OpenITG to write to your profile, the signature will fail next time you play on ITG2.

It's just like Macklemore said.

While I realize this is an ~*~ Extreme Necro-bump ~*~ this thread still comes up in Google search when I was looking so in case anyone else is having the same issues and just wants to get rid of the annoying signature failed message add

SignProfileData=0

to your static.ini

(Note that won't actually give you a signature, just gets rid of the message and displays your profile name -- there is one other workaround by editing the languages so the message is changed, but this is presuming you want your USB name shown)

Thanks Ectara Sayja for helping figure that one out.
