New to R21Freak and rhythm games in general.

Postby DrWhooves on Sat Mar 31, 2012 11:04 am

Hey, everyone. About 10 months ago, I got into stepmania. About two months ago, I discovered ITG was a thing. About a month ago I bought my own softpad. As of a week ago I passed my first 10. (Impulse on Medium from Tachyon Alpha)

So I'm glad to be here to chill with you guys and to know that the files I download are of quality!

Was it seriously that fast? It honestly sort of came to me when I started playing on the pad. I still can't footswitch very well, but I top out at 140 BPM for stream on a pad.

If you can get a 95% on an actual pad 20 in 10 months then the answer is probably yes.

I'm not as experienced with difficulty ratings as you guys, but 95%ing a 20 after playing for nearly 2 years is the equivalent of being a divine legend, isn't it?

I'm impressed but you may have been playing a lot. Still from what I've seen player progression usually start to slow down a bit when they reach 6-7 footers as it becomes harder stamina-wise, and beyond 10 footers you have to be in correct physical shape to clear songs.

I know some people that have been playing for years and can't even clear 12 footers though  Also be aware playing on a softpad is easier than an arcade pad (or a hard homepad)

I personally prefer the arcade pads - I get much better ranks on songs at the arcade than I do at home on my softpad.
