Tips for improving stamina/endurance?

Postby dj505 on Thu Aug 25, 2016 9:31 pm

I can make it through most 11s to 13s and the occasional 14, but not with much more than a 70 or 80% depending on the song. Anything much longer than 3 or 4 minute songs with high BPM streams nearly kills me, and I often lose track of notes when streaming (even when I can read the chart just fine.) Any tips?

here's how i got better at stamina. bear in mind i was only able to pass 16s once upon a time, but i used to struggle with 13s in all honesty.

1. you need to play a lot. when i was really into it i was doing around 2 hours a night, 4 or 5 days a week.

2. don't only play 174 bpm drum and bass charts. i recommend playing lots of 185-200 charts like sharpnel streamz pack. this made me improve a lot faster. i also think you should have a handful of charts you wanna pass and switch it up a lot. don't try passing the same thing over and over day after day.

3. don't bullshit your way through charts. FA them. aim to pass with 90+ not 70 something.

4. don't give up when you think you're tired, you definitely have more to give. push yourself mentally. this is the hardest one i found. it sucks to be tired and look at the progress bar and see you're only half way, but you'll never break the barrier if you just stop playing cause it seems impossible.

5. have good kicks. don't play in your fancy uggs

6. i think diet and nutrition is important. you can avoid this and still eat pizza, arby's (curly fries are dope) or w/e, but that's up to you. at least make sure while you're playing long sessions to drink plenty of water and have some light snacks like energy bars, almonds, etc.

7. you need to play a lot

don't expect results without the effort. good luck!

I play in just socks, even on a machine, since the screws that normally catch on socks are countersunk and flat where I play. It's surprisingly helpful! Though, as a backup, I do have a pretty nice pair of shoes that I can play easily in.
