SUPER MEAT BOY!! FULL-KEYBOARD STEPMANIA PACK: FINALLY STOPPED PROCRASTINATING ON IT

DOWNLOAD HERE: http://www.mediafire.com/?j9srl2z2ntydri5

All 25+ songs from the game Super Meat Boy charted for stepmania, plus one extra:
Meat Golem piano, arranged by Shad0w0nTheSun/Brent Kennedy!
4 or more charts per song - beginner 1s can be played immediately, beginner 2s with minimal practice and beginner 3s soon after that! Newbies to stepmania won't feel left out!

This pack is a keyboard pack with full difficulties charted, from 1 to 15+ nps.
-You are expected to play in a spread configuration using both index and middle fingers, with a key configuration such as qwop, efko or asdf. You can change this in tepmania under options then under key config.
-All charts are stepped by Patashu, all graphic work was done by leonid.
-Difficulty numbers are created not by DDR footers but by taking the average notes per second of the file and adjusting it up/down for easy/hard patterns/other reasons. For reference, max 300 would be a 7 in this system.
-A big thank you to leonid for saving me a lot of work as well as all my playtesters: leonid, Christian O, Benvolio, Lamperi, Detrimentalist, MyopicM2C1, Kynosaur (and anyone else I missed) as well as everyone who watched me livestream the stepping process: MyopicM2C1, Rebound, leonid, bmah, Tasselfoot, JasonKey, DrugstoreCowboy (and anyone else I missed)
-And we can't forget Danny Baranowsky/dB soundworks for making the awesome soundtrack so this could exist at all ;D

Other keyboard packs you might be interested in (also keyboard packs, also full difficulties):

If you don't have stepmania, I recommend sm-ssc. Download here: http://code.google.com/p/sm-ssc/

There's one important thing you'll want to do in sm-ssc: add speedmods. 1x is painfully slow, and for charts that get this hard you'll want to raise it until it's going as fast as you can read and react to it - with practice, you'll figure out how fast you can make it, but in general the faster it is the easier it is to play.

Depending on your OS navigate to the following folder and make SpeedMods.txt:
Windows (XP): %appdata%\sm-ssc\Save\SpeedMods.txt
Mac OS X: /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/StepMania SSC/SpeedMods.txt
Linux: /home/<username>/.sm-ssc/Save/SpeedMods.txt

Fill it with:

0.5x,1x,1.5x,2x,2.5x,3x,3.5x,4x,4.5x,5x,5.5x,6x,6.5x,7x,7.5x,8x,8.5x,9x,9.5x,10x,C100,C125,C150,C175,C200,C225,C250,C275,C300,C325,C350,C375,C400,C425,C450,C475,C500,C525,C550,C575,C600,C625,C650,C675,C700,C725,C750,C775,C800,C825,C850,C875,C900,C925,C950,C975,C1000

C-mods are a constant scroll rate, x-mods multiply the bpm of the song and so change speed when the song does.

If you don't want to use or can't figure out sm-ssc, you can use stepmania 3.9 or 4.0 instead: http://www.stepmania.com/wiki/Downloads
Then follow this topic to insert speedmods: http://www.bemanistyle.com/forum/f93/mo ... dmods-230/

Also, before you inevitably ask - if you use vista or windows 7, install Stepmania under Program Files and later try to make a new file or edit one, it won't save your changes because of permission issues. To fix this problem don't install Stepmania to Program Files or run it as administrator.

I keep two huge lists of Stepmania songpacks, one being the Official Songpack Thread and one being the Beginner's Songpack Thread, focused on packs featuring multiple difficulties. They're pretty extensive, inspired by IcyWorld and kept up to date with mirrors. Feel free to check them out, all together the packs add up to at least 150 GB.

So, the new stepmania online has created a huge database of songs. Not only is there keyboard stuff, but there is pad stuff as well.

http://stepmaniaonline.net/index.php?page=downloads

They are talking about organizing it better, so hopefully it'll be even better soon.

I like how my 3rd pack is labeled as a keyboard pack, while the rest are labeled as pad

Yea... Some stepmania players are very out of the loop and don't know how far pad players have come, leading to a few pads being thought to be index keyboard packs.

this database is fairly new, there are still a few kinks in it, but right now it is probably the most extensive collection of packs out there.

EDIT: Your packs are all pad now. Apparently, the packs are by default keyboard unless he manually changes it. Honestly, I think people will figure it out for the time being...

I guess people weren't reading

@_@ wrote:Apparently, the packs are by default keyboard unless he manually changes it.

It isn't an issue of stepmania players thinking they are pad packs, its an issue of there is only one person doing all of this. He obviously does not have every pack on that site and probably doesn't even know most of them. I will let him know what I see is wrong, but since the default is keyboard there will inevitably be some pad packs labeled as keyboard, at least for the time being.

I gave him a pretty extensive list of packs to be renamed. In a couple of days if you notice there are some that still haven't been fixed, let me know.
