What age did you start playing dance/music games?

i think the first time i ever played any DDR or Stepmania game was when i was 9 or 10, and i was really bad on the softpad we had so i was glad to be able to plug in my ps2 controller and play it with the buttons

probably a year after that i played a bit of stepmania on my brother's laptop and i got ok at it, but eventually stopped again

around about a year ago i got back into it and began installing tons of song packs -- as of now, i've AA'd impulse from tachyon alpha on medium (10) with 1 good on pad, and my best keyboard rank for whazashmup is 95.73%

Started playing DDR at home right around my 19th birthday in the fall of 2003. Stopped playing the following summer when my home pads crapped out, but in fall of 2004 I started playing strictly at the arcade. Played a little ITG starting in summer of 2006 but mostly stayed away from it because I still preferred DDR at the time. After r21 came out, I was playing ITG almost exclusively by spring of 2007.

The earliest I know I was playing games was 13, when my cousin was living with the family and she had a home copy of DDR Extreme 2. I'm fairly certain I was playing earlier, but this was the point where I actually got off of Beginner lolols. (I actually didn't get into ITG2 until this past March. I always thought of it as just a DDR knockoff since I had never heard of it outside of it being at the arcade before.)

I started with DDR max 2 (whenever that was, lol), played pretty much only on one of those foldy mat things for years, with the exception of the few times I went to the local pay-to-play arcadish thing that had consoles and played on an ignition. I discovered ITG at CMU and started playing here junior year of high school.

Tried DDR for the first time on my 7th birthday, got frustrated and told myself I would never play it again. Started up again when I was 12 and have been playing music games since.

I was kind of old. I think I was about 20 or 21, but it was around the time Max2 for the PS2 was released.

I was in 5th grade, so around 10 or 11. Picked it up quick, was playing Standard in less than a few hours Yet I still suck!

I started around February 2005 I believe. 11 years old. First experience was Ultramix 2 on Xbox. First purchase was Extreme for PS2 (and a CrapCatz Madcatz soft pad lol). Joined DDRFreak in August 2005. Good times. Took me like a year to get to heavy though because I'm slow at things. I got ITG PS2 when it came out but didn't really get into ITG until like 2009.

As for other music games, I bought beatmania US when it came out but didn't start working at IIDX until 2009 when I bought Troopers. And I started GF/DM around late 2010.

I was actually introduced to ITG when I was 17, which was 4 years ago. At the time, I really didn't care about it, 'cause I felt like a retard while playing, and I was more excited to play the Maximum Tune arcade game (fun game it is). A few years later, March 2011 I think, I got bored of Maximum Tune and decided to give ITG another shot. Something clicked this time, and I was able to work my way out of Medium and onto Hard (yay) and of course onto Expert by the end of the year. I'm glad that I like this game now .

after four(?) failed attempts at getting stepmania working, I decided to pick it up and start regularly practicing playing stepmania probably in my middle schooler years.

I went to an arcade with my brother and his friend couple months ago and started going about once a week after that and after a few months (about four or five or five and a half or four and a half or maybe three or maybe 6 months or maybe a little bit more or maybe a little bit less I don't really know) I went to an arcade with ITG and I was like "I like game" so I started going there and now I've been playing for a few more months (maybe 4 or 5 or 4 and a half or 5 and a few days)
