the thing is, using an version of stepmania based on if it can play videos or not is just stupid, if people think videos are more important than the actual game, then they have no interest in stepmania and only care about anime or w/e, then you cant call them stepmania players, stepmania is an simulator on which you can play ddr,piu,iidx and load of other game types, you can make your own songs, themes, noteskins, and in ssc the way lua has been ajusted is so amazing we can make stuff we could only dream about in 3.9, ssc truly is an new ages of stepmania, but it has the video problem, but if you cared about stepmania you wouldnt mind the video's but the fact is people still use older versions because they want to play these bad anime files with crappy converted videos that are just as good as some kid that filmed an video on youtube with his mobile phone and then uploaded it to his own youtube, if people want to bitch about that they want the videos to work, well tough there are some problems, but even with all that bitching these people try their best to fix it for you guys, and I have no idea why they do that, because its "gameplay = stepmania" not "video = stepmania"

I think mediafire is crap because they only have servers which is mainly based in the USA so all other country's lag like shit when getting stuff from it, especially people with slow internet which is the main reason its so fast for usa people like you, but all other people need to suffer, also it wont take long but soon mediafire will have so many people uploading stuff that it will be slow like fuck, same happend to every other upload system so.

1)look at how the receptor responds when pressed and there is no note.
2)look how the particle explosion responds only when there is an amount of combo or when you hit perfect.
3)look how the particle explosion reacts when you hold a noteskin
4)look at the long explosions it shows when you hit a note, you don't even have that

well if you need to edit the default to make your theme or noteskin work then you are a noob, lrn 2 make theme/lrn 2 make noteskin.
because if you edit default you will edit the data in there like for example in the default noteskin for sm5 there is "TapNoteAnimationLength=1" so people make a noteskin and they are like "hey I dont have to add this line because default already does it" so they dont add it, then some idiot comes along and is like LETS TELL PEOPLE TO REPLACE DEFAULT WITH OUR SHIT HERP DERP and noteskins break.
and thats why I have every single code in my noteskins, which makes the file unesesary huge but its better than being broken like shit.
but hey look at the bright side this is only the noteskins so thats only like 40 extra unessesary lines so it will work no mather what someone fucks up.
now look at themes.... does 1000 extra lines sound stupid, yes it does, SO STOP TELLING PEOPLE TO EDIT DEFAULT

If you decide to do that I bear no liabillty for egging you into it although I'm totally for you doing it, just because it would be downright hilarious; that forum is so strict now it's pathetic. There are a lot of other people who will hate you for spamming that, including the devs.
But then again a response from Jous is more than worth it IMO.

That's why it's called a preview.

It probably won't be finalized until all these quirks are dealt with (like yeah the crashing in edit mode).

Personally I think they should just remove everything except the arrows, you don't need things like graphics, videos and themes for the ~pure gameplay experience~ offered by SM5
